These 1 5/8 by 1 5/8 labels are fine if you use Microsoft Word 2000's mail merge or "Make Envelopes" options under the "Tools" menu. These two options allow you to vary the type of font and the font size for maximum visual effect. Unfortunately, the print preview shows a rectangular label template rather than a round one, precise placement of lettering may take a bit of trial and error. I was able to fit 25 letters (including spaces) in Courier New, font size 10, at the widest section of the label.

If you're making a single label, or for some other reason use the "Make Labels" option, any font adjustments you make will not transfer to the printed label. For that reason, it may be easier to just use a thick marker when making just a few labels. When used with Microsoft "Word Art" or a similar graphic lettering tool and a color printer (or just use colored pens, as mentioned above), these round labels will stand out from the squares, and add interest and attract attention to items you're selling (or trying to locate, say, in a crowed garage or closet). Not necessary, but fun.
